Impressions: people/places + 1 thing

The room was 85 degrees but he stayed.

His breath smelled much like a baby seal’s but she wrapped tongues with him for a
good 45 in the corner of a too bright bar anyway.

Who would she be if she weren’t she? In Milan, a tan (but not too tan) woman
throws back a drink (read: Gin Martini, dry, shaken, 2 olives, not 3) and then
another and another and even though the room is about 90 degrees she does not
break a sweat. She smokes a cigarette. Her fingernails are not yellow, nor are her
teeth.

A woman in the middle of the US of A (see: Cincinnati, OH) sits in a lawnchair in a
modest 2 piece bathing suit in her backyard. It is Summer. She has gained weight.

Lawnchair seems to have features: eyes, nose, mouth, long, slender chrome arms.
Its expression is a pleasant one.

In Colorado people sit around in wool socks drinking herbal teas and are
presumably happier than people living in other cities, she thinks.

A middle aged man with a significant number of hairs missing from the crown of
his head dances in a pinkish/purplish light with an under developed 20 year old
who closes her eyes when she dances. She opens her left eye to peek every now and
then. He does not soft core bump his pelvis into her small back like the other men in
the club are doing.

"It is punitively cold in New York. Who the fuck would live here on purpose?" a man
thinks as he struggles in the bike lane to hail a yellow cab to JFK, to a real house, a
birdfeeder and a compost pile.

Something changed in me in meeting you, I think. I’ll categorize it as a surge in
general optimism.

Who was that person whose mouth I knew? He stares at a funny thing happening on
the television and does not worry so much. She wonders what he is doing and what
she is doing, wondering like this. She orders a rice cooker on Amazon to ease the
pain. Imminent plans to make Sushi for 1.
